The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, has opened it’s 2025 scholarship. This is a very competitive last-dollar grant. It is awarded each year to exceptional minority high school seniors from low-income families who are outstanding student leaders with the goal of assisting them in reaching their full potential.
Scholarship Standards:
- To apply for this opportunity, you must be a high school senior
- Must come from one of the following ethnicities: African-American, American Indian/Alaska Native*, Asian & Pacific Islander American, and/or Hispanic American
- It is mandatory for American Indians and Alaska Natives to provide proof of tribal enrollment
- You should be be a US Citizen, national or permanent resident
- Students should be planning to undertake a full time, four year bachelor’s degree program
- Candidates should have good academic standings. It preferred that you be part of the top 10% of your graduating class
- Have excellent standing academically, with at least a 3.3 cumulative weighted GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
- You must demonstrate excellent leadership and exceptional personal success skills
The Award:
The scholarship will fund the full cost of students’ attendance that is not already covered by other financial aid and the Student Aid Index. The full cost of attendance includes:
- Tuition fees
- Accommodation
- Transportation
- Books
- May also include other personal cost
